The best thing about Davao is that, when the pressures of work get too much to handle, it’s so easy to find a spot for a breather. Or sometimes a bit more than just that…. Last night I went out with a few good friends and colleagues, to a newly-opened coffee shop in one of the city’s busiest haunts. The place is called Bruegger’s Café, which branch opened only last month.
In the photo are some of Davao’s IT heavyweights (from left): the author; Rodney Jao of Lane Systems; Ray Rubio of Cubepixels; and our friend Iris Lahora, who works for a BPO company here.
Rodney heads up the South’s most established soft-dev outfit, and Ray is a CG artist par excellence. But this night was a break from work, as evidenced by the beers on the table — although, being what we are, half the time was spent talking shop. I was having coffee though, but nobody knows whether it was spiked or not…
Davao’s climate, our atmosphere, is perfect for IT: we don’t lack for tools or such, and we have the best formula for that much-needed relaxation. Wanna find out? Check it out for yourself!!
