What were those intriguing shapes?

by Blogie • 6 August 2007

OK, so now I know what that huge rambutan-filled speech bubble in SM City was! It looked a lot like the symbol for blogging (and I wasn’t very far off the mark). Apparently, many such mysterious “crop circles” have appeared all over the country, from Baguio to Davao: shapes of TVs, envelopes, magnifying glasses, musical notes…. Well, it was all the promotional gimmick of Globe.

Today, telephony and data companies Globe Telecom and Innove have merged into one Globe team. A source tells me that this major move is aimed at synergizing the strengths of these two telecommunications giants.

Globe This is their new corporate image.

This new logo embodies the holistic approach Globe now wishes to bring to its clientele. The hand is representative of the consumer, being surrounded by technological innovations such as Globe’s data services and mobile applications.

Globe Telecom was the erstwhile carrier of their mobile phone products, while Innove handled fixed-line telephony and data services.

It should be safe to assume that this merger is also a streamlining effort by this Ayala corporation. Hopefully it will result in a much faster response time to the fast-growing and sophisticated demands of today’s Filipinos.
